Summoning Astral Projection

I had the opportunity for a late morning nap Nov. 13th with the hopes of sleep paralysis(I get it almost always during a late morning nap) since I’ve been experimenting with astral projection lately (no luck yet).

After falling asleep on my back, I hit the jackpot. As I was laying there I tried my absolute hardest to will my consciousness (or astral body, haven’t experienced it just yet) out from behind my eyes in the pineal gland area. I started to see a bright soft white light, thought that it was happening, and I slipped into an instant lucid dream.

I was on top of a very high mountain that had a light coat of snow on everything. I walked to the edge of the cliff to look down, but noticed some small doll figures of different Egyptian gods (Ra, Thoth, Anubis, and I think Horus) by some rocks to my right. Once I noticed Thoth (Egyptian god of wisdom and knowledge), I instantly thought about how I’ve been waiting for my next lucid experience to speak with him. So, I decided to give it a try (my first lucid dream summoning).

I looked to my left where there was a clearing, and as I did, just with the thought of summoning him, he was already there. A giant, black, almost fat Buddha version of the bird god.

(It was as almost we were communicating with thought, because everything would happen automatically as I thought it, and I have never been able to control the setting of my lucid dream, only interact with it as of yet)

I approached and decided to ask for guidance on astral projection; how to leave the body to be more specific. I sat in a typical meditation style, which I felt he wanted me to do. He then said in a very deep manly voice, “The first step to leaving your body is to bring focus to your eyes.”

As he spoke this, I closed my eyes (now back in sleep paralysis), and brought attention to my eyes. After a moment, I opened them again (now back in the dream state), but Thoth was gone and I was alone.

I approached the cliff again, this time I looked down and it was so deep that my vision couldn’t see through to the bottom. After peering down, I looked to the right to a funny rock formation. It was shaped just like a diving board, I knew that was its purpose.

I thought about using it as a launching pad for flying, but felt apprehensive for some reason. I decided to just go for it anyway, and as I did so….I woke up 🙁

Probably not, but could this have been a lower level astral projection? The way my thoughts were being carried out instantly has never happened at this level before. I’ve seen the bright light before in a past SP experience, but nothing happened and I woke up.

Neat stuff we can do with our minds.

I’ve been having a problem sleeping where I’d wake up feeling paralyzed and couldn’t breathe, it would take everything I had to move just a finger. I researched this problem about three weeks ago and found to it be sleep paralysis. While reading info on that I came across lucid dreaming, in complete disbelief I read on and decided to try it.

Last night I went out with friends stayed out to 3am came home and went to bed, I only got a few hours sleep before we all met up for breakfast. So when I came home I decided to take a nap to charge up for a party tonight.

As soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep and my sleep paralysis started. Still feeling scared to just let it run its course (feels like I’m
going to die) I started to fight it after letting it go on longer than normal. I pushed myself up out of bed as hard as I possibly could then it was effortless I was standing at the foot of my bed clinching my pillow as I advanced through the house floating, once in the kitchen I no longer had the pillow and looked at the clock on the stove and saw odd times that made no sense with every glance. I realized I was lucid dreaming. For some reason I started packing up chairs and smashing them and my alarm clock was unplugged on the kitchen table but still had numbers, I woke up only to have my dog in the bed even though he was outside where I put him so I looked at the clock again crazy numbers so I ran outside jumped in the truck and headed to town. The roads looked fine but seemed to be covered in ice as I was fishtailing all over the place and crashed into a lot of cars. Woke up for real after that.

Still not having enough experience to completely control my dreams I fell back sleep. This time when I woke up I tried to put items in my dream and it was working. Still couldn’t automatically dress myself had to do it in my dream and made my way safely to town where my dirty mind took over. I will just leave it at that to keep this PG.

I honestly did not believe this could work. When reading up on it i did not really follow the steps of writting down your dreams, I’ve always been able to remember a good amount of them as long as I went over the dream as soon as I awake. I hope I can continue to get better and at controlling these dreams its fun to play with. I understand my dreams are not great and magical or carry any meaning but its a start and its what I experienced for my first which im excided about.  But back to real life for now..

Elephant – Rhino Headed King

Subject: Elephant/rhino-headed king

This was quite a brief lucid dream, one of about three I had last night. They started off like out of body experiences – I was aware I was lying in my bed and then I got “the feeling” but instead of “getting up”, I’d just float upwards and found myself somewhere new – more of a dreamscape.

In one of these lucid dreams I found myself in a huge room, I followed along the ceiling and I found that every surface of this huge space was the same – wood I think, and curved. I looked down and right smack-bang in the middle of the room was a throne. Sitting on the throne was a king with what looked like either an elephant or rhino head. It was almost cartoon-like. He was just sitting there, all regal like. He didn’t notice me.

I  woke myself up because I had an urge to google a description of the room and king. Ganesha came up because I googled “elephant-headed king”. What I saw didn’t really look like the traditional representations of ganesh – as I said he was more cartoon like – but it was a very cool place and a very unusual king. I wish I could lucid dream more often, but I’m so sleep-deprived these days due to kids, my brain isn’t what it used to be!

Dream Characters Helping Lucidity

I had returned home from picking up a friend at the Palm Springs Airport and decided I would take a nap in the hopes for Sleep Paralysis (as I tend to get it often and want to astral project). But what happened was something I couldn’t have anticipated.

I woke up in my room, but there was someone next to me. I felt around, then looked to see who it was. It was my friend Alma, who I had just dropped off at home after picking up from the airport. I asked her, how did you get here, she didn’t know. I asked if my family had noticed her come in, she didn’t know. In fact, she had no answers for me, other than “I don’t know, I just woke up,” so I decided to look at the clock to check if this was a dream or not…and my digital clock had no answer to what time it was, I was lucid!!

I went out to the living room and saw my family sitting watching TV. I left the house, but was instantly driving my truck. Alma and a girl friend of hers were both riding in the back. Then her friend, who I will refer to as punker girl, grabbed and tickled me. As we were driving on a curving cliff road, the tickle started us over the side. As we were falling, I thought in my head that this is only a dream, and when we land, I will be safe…the fall was just as vivid as a real one.

Once landed, I turned and told the girls to hold hands in the form of a circle and we would use our intent to get back up to the road. But no dice.

Then as if in a instant, we were driving again. This time I was in the passenger seat, the girls in the back still, and a man who I did not know or communicate with was driving. My attention was almost completely captivated by punker girl. We kept talking, and I felt a strong connection to her for a reason I couldn’t identify.

As we were talking on this trip, she told me that we were going to meet soon in the future. I kept asking her questions, so that I could remember her and talk to her when we met. She said she thought I was hot ever since she saw me on the bus. I asked what bus, and she said I looked like the guy from that movie Roadtrip, the guy that made the pot that couldn’t be tested by any drug test. She also said that it’s all heavy black guys nowadays, while looking at a magazine (I still have no idea what that meant). I read her tattoos, but can only remember that they had a lot of red in them.

She was really good at controlling MY dream and said she had a ton of experience with lucid dreaming. Alma chimed in and validated her claim.

I tried my hardest to control any little aspect of the dream, but every attempt left me in no control at all. The girls even made fun of me for trying the moves like on Dragon Ball Z in a futile attempt to move something. Then the ride was over, we were where we were going…

We came up to a doorway that had two big doors, like at a doctors office or something. Once through the door, I tried to move a desk…and it moved! But with a huge delay, so I turned around and saw a women in a lab coat moving it. In my mind, I kept thinking, how can all of my dream characters control MY dream, but I can’t!

I asked her to help me learn how to control my lucid dreams, and she agreed, then told me to follow. The girls did not come with us, they left as I was getting ready to follow the lab coat woman down the hallway. The woman, who I will refer to as Dr. Labcoat, told me that my “speech cognition was really good.” I said thanks, not really knowing what she meant.

Then we reached a room at the end of the hallway with some other lab coat people walking around, a chair in the middle of the room, and some type of machine in the corner of the room.

She sat me down, then put some diodes on my head. I kept clapping and rubbing my hands in order to stay lucid longer, I wanted the procedure to work in a hope that my subconscious would somehow unlock the power of controlling the lucid dream for subsequent lucid dreams.

I sat there for a few seconds, then turned around, and saw a previous college roommate. But he was frozen! I asked what was wrong, and he replied by touching an object and freezing it. I told him I was super hot, so I got up and gave him a hug in order to warm him up. Right after I did so, Dr. Labcoat turned to me and told me “I couldn’t control that,” Meaning that my roommate was not planned or something, at least that’s the feeling that I got from it.

Then everything started to fade to black. NO! I tried everything, but couldn’t stay any longer. I woke up in sleep paralysis, and tried to desperately go back into the dream. Then, as I was coming out of SP, I heard the loudest bell sound off, DING! Just like a front desk hotel bell. Wasn’t my phone, wasn’t any other “thing” I could attribute to this sound. Then I was back in waking reality.

The entire dream was so vivid and real, that it felt like I was somewhere else. Still haven’t come across Punker Girl in real life or in my dreams.

Multiple Lucid Dreams and OBE In The First Night

How many lucid dreams have you had?: 4

Subject: Multiple ones in one night on the first night?

So I’m a bit confused considering last Sunday was what I belive to be my first Lucid dream. I had always sought to Astral Project and learned lucid dreaming helped achieve this so I decided to attempt to master both. Well this night I didn’t intend for it to happen, didn’t even think about it. Remember this detail because it was the detail that awakened me.

I had received a laptop from a cancer group, (I’m 15) for free and only had this laptop a few weeks. That night before I went to bed the last thing I did was close the laptop and set on my night stand. After a lot of thinking about how I missed my girlfriend, I feel asleep, and began having a nightmare.

I was lying in my bed with my laptop open turned on and next to me while being choked by a demon. While I was being choked I noticed the laptop out in the corner of my eye. I said to myself that I could have sworn I set that on my night stand, then it hit me, I was dreaming. Suddenly the demon and the laptop disappeared and I was just lying in my bed. I didn’t know that I had done something this site calls a reality check, but I’m still confused as to why the demon and laptop went away.

The next thing I did was think, and then suddenly I awoke, around 5:00 in the morning and couldn’t fall back asleep due to the amount of fear and excitement that had come over me. I fell asleep maybe an hour later, and then dreamed about my girlfriend. I was laying next to her in bed, fully clothed, and she began to talk about her dream. I told my girlfriend in the past about attempting OBE (Out of Body Experience) and Lucid Dreaming, so I began to tell her about the dream I had, but only I thought it was the night before. Then I said I didn’t remember falling asleep that night, and then she froze up, and then I said to her, “Oh my God Skyy, (my girlfriend’s name), I feel like I’m dreaming.”

I began to sit and try to remember my day, then it hit me, I was dreaming, and I heard a long GONG and then she had disappeared. I was laying in her bed, without a clue what to do. Then I found myself in another dream, one with my friend Meigan, who I wasn’t all that close to. We were both famous and seemed real, I Remember my aunt being the manager for what ever we did. Well in the dream my aunt took me to the wrong room, and she had told me the room was mine, when really it was Meigan’s. Then I went to sleep, and Meigan got in the bed next to me, she turned over and screamed.

After a few moments of pitch black I awoke into yet another dream. I was dreaming about astral projection, something I have been fooling around with at least once a week. I had gotten to sleep paralysis a couple a times, but always became fearful and freakout and moved and struggled because the noises I heard freaked me out. Well, thinking I was awake I attempted to astral project. I succeeded in my dream almost instantly. Instead of happening like the articles I read explained, I was being pulled around the house with my eyes closed, I felt my hand touch the hard wood floor, which is odd because it felt real for sure, but every time I opened my eyes I was back in my bed. And I attempted this over and over again. Then I began to give up and looked over to my left, the laptop was missing. Then again I realized I was dreaming.

So I had began to experiment using the fake astral projection for an experiment, I decided to have my body lifted up, instead of pulled across the floor, and it did so. I decided I wanted to be at my grandparents house, and I ended up in the garage, only I was a lot taller. I think I had lost focus and became a zombie again, once I saw my aunt. It was weird, because now that I think about it, one distraction was all it took for me to play out the rest of my dream.

I had more dreams but none of which were Lucid. The fact that I remember them clearly is a good sign though right? I can’t believe I felt the hard wood floor, it felt so real, who wouldn’t believe they weren’t dreaming, it was impossible. I fell like I’m accomplishing something here. Although one thing about me is different, I feel so head light today, like as if some sort of weight that I actually liked is missing. I have nightmares about demons and my girlfriend dying a lot, maybe if I can master this, I can fend off what always haunts me at night, and stop it from happening. I don’t know, I feel weird about all this. Is that normal?

Lucid Dreaming Stories: Dillon, This is one of the best stories we have received here and I just want to thank you for taking the time to write it all out in this much detail and share it with us. I have had many nights like this where I will experience multiple lucid dreams, false awakenings, and false astral projections all in one night.

What is most interesting is that this was your first night experiencing lucid dreaming and you had so much lucidity through it all. This type of lucid dreaming is much more advanced but I believe that you experimenting with astral projection is what allowed you to go so far in your lucid dreams. Like you said in your story one little distraction and you forget your dreaming and everything is thrown off. Once you realize you are dreaming you must stay extremely focused to keep yourself at a high level of lucidity. This can take years to master.

That noise you are describing when attempting to have an OBE is called astral noise. For me it’s like a combination of hissing, cracking, popping, and sometimes hearing voices whisper, though it may be different for other people. I still have trouble getting through this stage sometimes but you cannot let it distract you or you will never stay relaxed enough to astral project.

I don’t think that people realize how real a dream can actually feel. Especially when you become lucid and pay attention to the feelings. I have had dreams that I can honestly say were more real than reality itself. I believe this is because our senses and emotions are heightened when we are dreaming and so it can be more intense than waking life.

Also do you think that you were actually experiencing astral projection or just dreaming that you were astral projection? Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference sometimes and takes practice.

Also I am currently writing a post about overcoming the fear of astral projection. It will help you get over the fear of sleep paralysis and also getting over the demon experience. I will update this with a link as soon as I finish it. (Sometime this month hopefully)

Anyways thanks for the story and if anyone else is reading this far then take this as an example when submitting your story. The more details you write down the more you will remember and the more vivid your lucid dreams will become.

P.S. This story is going in our Best Lucid Dreaming Story archive which I will start putting on the front page.
