Delayed Death / Running From Friends

Delayed Death:

So first when I went to bed, I sort of just asked myself “Can I have a lucid dream tonight?”, and then I did so I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or not. So with the actual dream, I did a good reality check and was like “Oh hey, I’m dreaming!” So I tried flying, and it worked much better than last time. I found that this time I actually have a body, and could see my hands. So then I tried falling and dieing to see what happens, and for around 3 seconds I was just on the ground, blind. Then I had a very strange false awakening. I woke up with the room looking all crazy, the light on, and I was standing up. If I was thinking properly, I would easily have realized it was a dream. I was like “Aha! Caught you false awakening”, but then as I lost lucidity I started to wonder if I really was dreaming, and came up with some crazy excuse as to how I woke up in the middle of the room. The scene changed and I became lucid again, but unfortunately I can’t remember any other parts of the dream.

Running From Friends

I was on my street but it all looked strange. I started to walk down it and random people began to follow me, I began to start running because the people following started to look more menacing but as I started my bones started to shift and I had the ability to run on all fours very fast. After a while of running I managed to get to a house that looked normal, I walked inside and the walls started to open around me. The walls opened on to a very nice view from a mountain and then I woke up

Subject: Real-Life Affects Lucid Dream

This is one of the more peculiar dreams of mine; I have never had a dream above limited lucidity. When I want something to happen, it doesn’t, but if something clicks at the back of my mind, my imagination swirls and it happens. I don’t know why I get lucid dreams as I am not very self conscious most the time. I did not intend to get the dreams. I just get them without trying, so I guess I’m pretty lucky.

The dream started out semi-lucid right off the bat. It was the middle of the day, and I was in my school, fifth period social studies. I realized something peculiar was happening. (I didn’t intend to have a lucid dream)For instance, the room was a lot more colorless, odorless, and featureless. The fish tank was missing, as well as all the posters on the wall and projects. That was when I realized I was in a dream, and suddenly I was back at my house at night. I must’ve been reading too much of those WWII books recently, because there were uniformed men at our door.

Suddenly, my senses improved and I heard a voice, “Report immediately or we will be force to comply with orders.” By now, I was fully aware of my sleepiness, cool air, and fabrics of my sheets. This was my first lucid dream in which a real threat has been displayed, so instead of doing what I would do in an unconscious dream, like just stumbling along into captivity, I did what I would do in real life. I made a run for it, smashing through the living room window and sprinting across the streets, which was heaving and cracking and the clouds were red. But like I said, even in a lucid dream, my mind won’t allow things that don’t make sense in real life, or at least things in my control.

I stopped to catch my breath and fell onto the garden floor next to our local library. The garden was less realistic, without any bugs, or imperfections in the plants design. The soil felt moist and I actually fell into another sleep. This one was of waking up into my room, muttering something and feeling relived that it was over. But of course I was wrong. I lie down in my bed, falling asleep again. (In case you haven’t noticed, I fall through many layers during my dreams, since in real life I’m always tired.)

Now I was in a meadow. I don’t remember what happened here, but it was the place where I realized I had fallen too far. A huge screeching sound happened and I woke up in my ‘room’ again. There was a slimy red slug on my forehead, and soon it formed many others which began sliding down my neck. I must’ve lost some consciousness, since I started walking around. I remember stumbling outside, and hearing another screeching sound that brought me back to reality. I willed myself to wake up, and it worked like it usually does. Now I was back in the mound of soil. From here, I lost a lot of consciousness, being shipped into a dome, seeing some nasty human dissections, and being lead down to a building.

Then I fell into blackness for a period of time I don’t remember until hearing a strum, but at that point I didn’t know it was my own alarm, just something in my dream. In the room I was a again, the sound of my alarm fading away, when I became fully lucid and aware of the red emergency button that I was imagining from a alien invasion movie at the back of my head. I leaned over and pressed it, like the main character Chris had done, and the room spun into chaos with people running all over the place. I think I saw some familiar faces, but then I woke up. That’s when I understood the screeching sounds of my door, the alarm, and the wet beads of sweat that had trickled down my neck…I hate it when things in real life affect the dream world. Two things that would make the dreams better:

1: Nothing from real life interfering with deeper layers of dreaming
2: Being able to control things…complete lucidity

I’ve been having a problem sleeping where I’d wake up feeling paralyzed and couldn’t breathe, it would take everything I had to move just a finger. I researched this problem about three weeks ago and found to it be sleep paralysis. While reading info on that I came across lucid dreaming, in complete disbelief I read on and decided to try it.

Last night I went out with friends stayed out to 3am came home and went to bed, I only got a few hours sleep before we all met up for breakfast. So when I came home I decided to take a nap to charge up for a party tonight.

As soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep and my sleep paralysis started. Still feeling scared to just let it run its course (feels like I’m
going to die) I started to fight it after letting it go on longer than normal. I pushed myself up out of bed as hard as I possibly could then it was effortless I was standing at the foot of my bed clinching my pillow as I advanced through the house floating, once in the kitchen I no longer had the pillow and looked at the clock on the stove and saw odd times that made no sense with every glance. I realized I was lucid dreaming. For some reason I started packing up chairs and smashing them and my alarm clock was unplugged on the kitchen table but still had numbers, I woke up only to have my dog in the bed even though he was outside where I put him so I looked at the clock again crazy numbers so I ran outside jumped in the truck and headed to town. The roads looked fine but seemed to be covered in ice as I was fishtailing all over the place and crashed into a lot of cars. Woke up for real after that.

Still not having enough experience to completely control my dreams I fell back sleep. This time when I woke up I tried to put items in my dream and it was working. Still couldn’t automatically dress myself had to do it in my dream and made my way safely to town where my dirty mind took over. I will just leave it at that to keep this PG.

I honestly did not believe this could work. When reading up on it i did not really follow the steps of writting down your dreams, I’ve always been able to remember a good amount of them as long as I went over the dream as soon as I awake. I hope I can continue to get better and at controlling these dreams its fun to play with. I understand my dreams are not great and magical or carry any meaning but its a start and its what I experienced for my first which im excided about.  But back to real life for now..

In the dream I wake up, it was dark everywhere. But then, from the dark I could see the things that are around me. I was scared at first, then I go out of my bedroom towards my parent’s bedroom. The real door is white, but this time it’s covered with dark red, almost like blood. When I opened it, I saw my parent’s skeleton or bones laying down on their bed. I cried loudly then woke up back on my own bed. That was the first, now the second time.

I woke up again and did the same thing, but this time I didn’t cry instead. Now I walk downstairs and tried to go out of my house, I grabbed a knife then went outside. Holy sh*t everything is dark with a red moon above the sky and I am like,’the hell just happened here?’. I heard loud screams that bleed my ears then I woke up.

The third time was like this… After that loud scream, I started to travel around the block. Zombies everywhere like ants on a sugar. I ran back to my house and saw my friends are all there to take cover, to hide from zombies. Now then I felt a lot safer with my friends over there, we fought a few of zombies but managed to survive. I help the wounded, bandage their arm, give them antidotes and more. Then I fell asleep as my friend is on the watch. Then I woke up back on my bed again. Sh*t what the hell was all of that, now that dream is still shadowing me… Damn it,will I come back there again?

Multiple Lucid Dreams and OBE In The First Night

Subject: Multiple ones in one night on the first night?

So I’m a bit confused considering last Sunday was what I belive to be my first Lucid dream. I had always sought to Astral Project and learned lucid dreaming helped achieve this so I decided to attempt to master both. Well this night I didn’t intend for it to happen, didn’t even think about it. Remember this detail because it was the detail that awakened me.

I had received a laptop from a cancer group, (I’m 15) for free and only had this laptop a few weeks. That night before I went to bed the last thing I did was close the laptop and set on my night stand. After a lot of thinking about how I missed my girlfriend, I feel asleep, and began having a nightmare.

I was lying in my bed with my laptop open turned on and next to me while being choked by a demon. While I was being choked I noticed the laptop out in the corner of my eye. I said to myself that I could have sworn I set that on my night stand, then it hit me, I was dreaming. Suddenly the demon and the laptop disappeared and I was just lying in my bed. I didn’t know that I had done something this site calls a reality check, but I’m still confused as to why the demon and laptop went away.

The next thing I did was think, and then suddenly I awoke, around 5:00 in the morning and couldn’t fall back asleep due to the amount of fear and excitement that had come over me. I fell asleep maybe an hour later, and then dreamed about my girlfriend. I was laying next to her in bed, fully clothed, and she began to talk about her dream. I told my girlfriend in the past about attempting OBE (Out of Body Experience) and Lucid Dreaming, so I began to tell her about the dream I had, but only I thought it was the night before. Then I said I didn’t remember falling asleep that night, and then she froze up, and then I said to her, “Oh my God Skyy, (my girlfriend’s name), I feel like I’m dreaming.”

I began to sit and try to remember my day, then it hit me, I was dreaming, and I heard a long GONG and then she had disappeared. I was laying in her bed, without a clue what to do. Then I found myself in another dream, one with my friend Meigan, who I wasn’t all that close to. We were both famous and seemed real, I Remember my aunt being the manager for what ever we did. Well in the dream my aunt took me to the wrong room, and she had told me the room was mine, when really it was Meigan’s. Then I went to sleep, and Meigan got in the bed next to me, she turned over and screamed.

After a few moments of pitch black I awoke into yet another dream. I was dreaming about astral projection, something I have been fooling around with at least once a week. I had gotten to sleep paralysis a couple a times, but always became fearful and freakout and moved and struggled because the noises I heard freaked me out. Well, thinking I was awake I attempted to astral project. I succeeded in my dream almost instantly. Instead of happening like the articles I read explained, I was being pulled around the house with my eyes closed, I felt my hand touch the hard wood floor, which is odd because it felt real for sure, but every time I opened my eyes I was back in my bed. And I attempted this over and over again. Then I began to give up and looked over to my left, the laptop was missing. Then again I realized I was dreaming.

So I had began to experiment using the fake astral projection for an experiment, I decided to have my body lifted up, instead of pulled across the floor, and it did so. I decided I wanted to be at my grandparents house, and I ended up in the garage, only I was a lot taller. I think I had lost focus and became a zombie again, once I saw my aunt. It was weird, because now that I think about it, one distraction was all it took for me to play out the rest of my dream.

I had more dreams but none of which were Lucid. The fact that I remember them clearly is a good sign though right? I can’t believe I felt the hard wood floor, it felt so real, who wouldn’t believe they weren’t dreaming, it was impossible. I fell like I’m accomplishing something here. Although one thing about me is different, I feel so head light today, like as if some sort of weight that I actually liked is missing. I have nightmares about demons and my girlfriend dying a lot, maybe if I can master this, I can fend off what always haunts me at night, and stop it from happening. I don’t know, I feel weird about all this. Is that normal?

Lucid Dreaming Stories: Dillon, This is one of the best stories we have received here and I just want to thank you for taking the time to write it all out in this much detail and share it with us. I have had many nights like this where I will experience multiple lucid dreams, false awakenings, and false astral projections all in one night.

What is most interesting is that this was your first night experiencing lucid dreaming and you had so much lucidity through it all. This type of lucid dreaming is much more advanced but I believe that you experimenting with astral projection is what allowed you to go so far in your lucid dreams. Like you said in your story one little distraction and you forget your dreaming and everything is thrown off. Once you realize you are dreaming you must stay extremely focused to keep yourself at a high level of lucidity. This can take years to master.

That noise you are describing when attempting to have an OBE is called astral noise. For me it’s like a combination of hissing, cracking, popping, and sometimes hearing voices whisper, though it may be different for other people. I still have trouble getting through this stage sometimes but you cannot let it distract you or you will never stay relaxed enough to astral project.

I don’t think that people realize how real a dream can actually feel. Especially when you become lucid and pay attention to the feelings. I have had dreams that I can honestly say were more real than reality itself. I believe this is because our senses and emotions are heightened when we are dreaming and so it can be more intense than waking life.

Also do you think that you were actually experiencing astral projection or just dreaming that you were astral projection? Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference sometimes and takes practice.

Also I am currently writing a post about overcoming the fear of astral projection. It will help you get over the fear of sleep paralysis and also getting over the demon experience. I will update this with a link as soon as I finish it. (Sometime this month hopefully)

Anyways thanks for the story and if anyone else is reading this far then take this as an example when submitting your story. The more details you write down the more you will remember and the more vivid your lucid dreams will become.

P.S. This story is going in our Best Lucid Dreaming Story archive which I will start putting on the front page.
